Any excuse to travel is a good excuse to travel. And this time, swimming brought me to New Zealand.
I have a lot of good memories in New Zealand. Two years ago I was invited by my friend James Galea to work on his touring production Band of Magicians as a backstage magician, responsible for all the behind the scenes magic stuff on the 4 week tour. We hit four cities and then took a weeklong road trip. It was enormous fun, but also bittersweet. Working backstage made me frustrated I wasn’t on the stage. But this time, I am on stage – though a different one. More a deck.
In any case, I traveled with the Olympic Club to the World Masters Games in Auckland, New Zealand, for a 10 day trip. How did I swim? Doesn’t matter. Fine. The point was the fun times with friends. And fun times were had.
